About Fisherman's Walk Beach

Fisherman's Walk Beach is a wide, sandy Blue Flag beach located between Southbourne and Boscombe. It offers a bustling yet friendly atmosphere, making it a great spot for dog walkers outside of seasonal restrictions. The beach is well-equipped with facilities and offers scenic views.

Notable features: Blue Flag beach, views of the Needles on the Isle of Wight, Riva Cafe, crazy-golf course, children’s playground at the top of the cliffs, historic Cliff Lift.

Dog Tips

Dogs are not allowed on Fisherman's Walk beach from 1 May to 30 September. During this period, dogs must be kept on a lead on the promenade, paths, and zig-zags at all times. There is a year-round dog-friendly section to the east (left) of the beach office.

The nearest car park is Woodside Road car park (BH5 2BA), which is paid and has 85 spaces (4 disabled). Free parking is available along Southbourne Overcliff Drive, a short walk from the beach.

Lifeguard service (June, July & August), cafe with ice-cream kiosk, toilets, beach office, drinking water taps, beach showers, and electric barbecues.

Accessibility

Access to the beach is via a long Zig-Zag path or the Fisherman’s Walk Cliff-Lift. The zig-zag path is paved and accessible for most visitors, including those with pushchairs or mobility aids. Beach accessible wheelchairs are available to loan. Two electric barbecues are wheelchair accessible.
